Life is Like a Mountain Railway

Sometimes it’s hard…

I am content not to own my own home, most of the time. There are times that I really pine for something of my own. I don’t feel bad making small investments for the house we rent now. Mostly because we’re long-term renters here and any small amount of money we invest, I feel like we’ll be able to enjoy and reap the benefits long enough that it’s worth it. But things that cost more than a little — well, it’s simply not worth it. I really, really want one more bathroom. One very tiny bathroom is not cutting it for five people anymore. The other thing is, the carpeting throughout the living room, dining room and hallways. To put it bluntly: it’s dang ugly. I try to draw the eye upward but it’s hard when it’s so, so ugly. I look at people doing home improvement and I have to admit that I feel a pang of jealously. I can’t wait until it’s my turn. I hope that one day it will be my turn. I want to have pretty cabinets, glass tiles, and normal looking carpet…..
