I have had a productive morning with the laundry and cleaning the kitchen. I’m about to attack the 4 billion matchbox cars in the living room, and my son’s phonics lesson, but before I do, thought I’d sit down and relax for a few minutes. I am listening to my relaxing/artsy playlist right now… Keane, Rob Thomas (his quieter songs where he plays the piano… ohlala), James Blunt, Daniel Powter etc. This playlist calms my spirit and refreshes my mind.
I constantly struggle with getting my children to eat their vegetables. Warrior eats fruit wonderfully. Forest puts up a fight about fruits as well as veggies. So last night I was proud of myself - we were making homemade pizza and I decided to shred up some fresh carrots and mix it into the sauce. Figured since there was a lot of reddish-orange things - the cheddar cheese and the sauce, they wouldn’t notice it. They ate pizza with carrots on it and didn’t even realize it! Sneaky, sneaky!
How about that game last night?! It was super exciting to watch. I’m SO glad the Pats lost. I didn’t even care who won - I just wanted them to lose.
Aren’t I swell? I’ve been waiting for someone to avenge them for me, since they’ve beat my beloved team so many times.
Warrior has a fuzzy one piece Carter’s outfit on today. He loves pockets and this one doesn’t have any, so he is improvising. He has stuffed all his Nascar’s up his pant legs and they are all in the crotch of his pants. He showed me proudly and said “Look! Me made pockets!”

The pockets thing is really cute. Mine likes to use his diaper for a place to hang his swords on his hip. Like a sheath or something like that, I think that it is cute but it drives my husband crazy.
I am glad about the game as well!!!! The tight end for the Giants is from where we live so it was a big win for us.
Try Jerry Seinfeld’s wife’s cookbook that just was released a month or so ago. I saw it at Costco–it looked like it was FULL of ideas for sneaking veggies in to kiddo’s food.
That pizza sauce sounds really good with the shredded carrots in it. I think I’ll try that!
That pocket thing is pretty amazing.
I am fortunate to have a child who seems to eat about anything, including veggies and he is a huge fruit fan.
And that is cute what W does to improvise for pockets. Smart little man.
Yay for the sneaky carrot trick…I’m totally stealing this idea…no puree needed,eh?
Love the pocket improv….a boy and his package!
Chan used to run around with only his undies on and multiple swords and weapons stuffed inside…very um, uncomfortable looking.
Bec wears only a tshirt to bed and he sleeps with a lightning mcqueen in each hand. One night, he held the bottom of his shirt, put in 3 cars, then laid on his tummy. Not too comfortable, but he loved it.
I love the carrot idea too.
