Life is Like a Mountain Railway

Tackle it Tuesday!

I had big ambition for today, however the kiddos have come down with some kind of bug. It includes a low grade fever and a croupy sounding cough. Not what I would consider a typical summer illness. I am crossing all my crossables that the Princess doesn’t catch it as well. Illness and tiny babes scares the life out of me! I digress…. So instead of my all day cleaning, I decided to just tackle one thing, and that one thing ended up being my freezer after I almost knocked the baby and myself out with a package of frozen chicken that came flying out at us after I opened the freezer door the other day. It was actually packed so tightly that at one point, I had to use clear packing tape to hold it shut. My FIL thought it was some sort of diet tool - like something that would make me think twice before getting in to eat something. Nice thought, but not. And a piece of measly old tape could never hold me back. Are you kidding me?

Before photos, complete with chicken from last year, 4 bags of open frozen peas, a container with some unknown substance in it (looks as though if you ate it would give you a proper colon cleanse), and mostly gone containers of ice-cream, among other things:

After photos, complete with my 10 containers of frozen juice, my 6 Schwans Rootbeer floats (Karianne so sweetly sent some when I was as sick as a dog whilst pregnant, and the boys are officially hooked!), and enough toaster strudels for a toaster strudel factory. (During my last few pre-natal appts., hubby’s gram would watch the kids. She found out they liked strudel, and she brought them one at every appt!)

The kitchen is now a much safer place. :P

Looks good, lady! See? You don’t need me! I want a Rootbeer Float. Mmm, or a toaster strudel….

Maybe I need some packing tape to keep me out of my freezer! Actually, I should just packing tape the whole kitchen doorway….

Good laugh had here!

Funny thing is I wish I had that much food in ours…it’s a side by side and takes more to “load it up”.

The tape doesn’t work, I know I’ve tried!
As for the summer colds?! I’m not sure what’s going on but my little one has a funny cough also! Best of wishes for healling quickly!

The freezer purge is something I need to put on my to-do list. Like you (prior to today), I risk a concussion or broken toe every time I open mine.

Your after pics look great. Consolidated and organized. Fantastic!
